The combed cotton is a type of cotton that is obtained after being subjected to a combing process. The process consists in passing the thread through "combs" that are in charge of eliminating impurities that may remain, as well as any short or medium fiber that has passed in a first work of carding. This process can eliminate up to 15% of the fibers leaving only the fibers longer and more resistant.
There are many advantages to the garments made with combed cotton, one of them is the general quality of the garment, since being made only with long fibers are much more resistant and they break with less facility, besides being more fresh and soft to the touch. It also better maintains the dyeing processes and the color stays bright longer, as it better withstands the scouring produced by the washes.
